While the formal proposal is yet to be finalized, DSHE sources confirmed on Thursday, February 26, 2026, that the necessary paperwork will be forwarded to the Ministry of Education shortly to ensure timely payment before the upcoming Eid holidays.

According to DSHE’s operational timeline:

  • February Salary Status: The proposal for the regular monthly salary for February 2026 was sent to the Ministry of Education today, February 26.

  • Bonus Proposal Timeline: The EMIS (Educational Management Information System) cell is scheduled to begin drafting the specific proposal for the Eid festival allowance next week.

  • Approval Process: Once the Ministry of Education provides administrative approval, the funds will be released through the Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) system.

Professor Mohammed Monir Hossain Patwary, Director (Finance & Procurement) at DSHE, stated that while the immediate focus was on clearing the February salaries, the festival allowance process is on track and will follow the standard procedure. Senior System Analyst Md. Humayun Kabir reassured teachers that the EMIS cell is working diligently to ensure that the bonus reaches their accounts well before Eid-ul-Fitr.

This year, there is significant anticipation regarding the bonus amount. While the long-standing rule has been 25% of the basic salary for teachers and 50% for employees, teacher organizations have recently placed a 13-point demand to Education Minister Dr. A.N.M. Ehsanul Haque Milon, requesting a 100% festival bonus to alleviate financial pressure. The Ministry has indicated that these demands are under review, though a final decision on increasing the percentage for the 2026 Eid-ul-Fitr has not yet been officially gazetted.
