Educational Institutions to Close for 4 Consecutive Days Due to Elections
According to the notification, the government has declared a general holiday for these two days through an executive order to facilitate citizens' right to vote and ensure smooth polling operations. As these dates precede the regular weekend (Friday and Saturday), educational institutions will effectively observe a continuous four-day break.
The decision followed a meeting of the Council of Advisers. The directive specifies that teachers, officials, and employees of all government, semi-government, autonomous, and private offices, as well as educational institutions, will fall under the purview of this holiday.
In a separate move to ensure the voting rights of industrial workers, the government has declared a special holiday on February 10 (Tuesday) for those employed in industrial zones. This measure is intended to allow workers sufficient time to travel to their respective constituencies to cast their ballots.
Authorities believe that this extended holiday period will play a positive role in increasing voter turnout and foster a festive atmosphere for the nationwide electoral process.
