69,000 Pass Primary Teacher Recruitment Exam
The written test was conducted on January 9 across 61 districts, excluding the three hill tracts districts. Candidates can now access their results on the official websites of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education (mopme.gov.bd) and the Directorate of Primary Education (dpe.gov.bd).
This year, over 1.08 million candidates competed for 14,385 vacant posts. However, the examination process was marred by rumors of question paper leaks and the activities of 'device parties' that used electronic gadgets for cheating. Authorities reportedly caught 207 candidates red-handed across various districts, including Gaibandha, Naogaon, and Dinajpur. Following these incidents, a group of job seekers protested on the streets, demanding the cancellation of the exam over allegations of widespread fraud.
In response to the protests, the Directorate of Primary Education (DPE) clarified that there was no credible evidence of a question paper leak. The authorities stated that those who attempted to cheat were promptly arrested and legal actions have been initiated against them. Therefore, the DPE ruled out any possibility of canceling the exam. The schedule for the viva voce for successful candidates is expected to be announced shortly.
