Hezbollah Claims Retaliatory Attacks on Israeli Troops in South Lebanon Amid Ceasefire Violations
According to the group, these operations were launched in retaliation for Israeli "ceasefire violations" that resulted in civilian casualties. The Lebanese armed group detailed an "ambush" on Israeli troops in Taybeh and a "drone swarm" attack near Naqoura. Other strategic targets included a command center in Kantara and military gatherings in towns like Houla and Deir Siriane.
Despite the recent ceasefire agreement, hostilities continue to escalate. On Wednesday, the Israeli military ordered residents of 12 towns in southern Lebanon and the Western Beqaa Valley to evacuate immediately. Since the escalation began on March 2, nearly 1.2 million people have been displaced in Lebanon. The latest wave of attacks by Hezbollah further complicates the fragile peace efforts in the region.
