Post-Poll Violence in Birbhum: TMC Worker Brutally Murdered in Nanur

The incident occurred on Tuesday (May 5), sparking intense tension and fear throughout the locality. Abir was known as an active grassroots worker in the region.

According to family members and local sources, Abir was intercepted by a group of armed miscreants while he was walking alone. The family has directly accused BJP-backed goons of carrying out the pre-planned attack with sharp weapons. After leaving him critically injured and bleeding on the street, the attackers fled the scene. Although locals rushed him to the hospital, doctors declared him dead on arrival. Nanur police have since arrived at the spot to maintain order and have sent the body for autopsy. An investigation is currently underway to identify and apprehend those responsible for the killing.
