According to state news agency IRNA, the proposal suggests reopening the Strait of Hormuz—a vital global maritime route—in exchange for lifting the US naval blockade on Iranian ports. However, the offer suggests deferring discussions on Tehran’s nuclear program to a later date.

The diplomatic overture comes as Iran’s Judiciary Chief, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, asserted that while the Islamic Republic is open to dialogue, it will not succumb to "imposed" policies or threats. Despite this, US President Donald Trump has rejected the offer, telling Axios that sanctions and blockades will remain in place until Iran completely abandons its nuclear ambitions. Adding fuel to the fire, reports of US Central Command (CENTCOM) preparing "short and powerful" strike plans and deploying hypersonic missiles have pushed the region to the brink of a potential renewed conflict.
