According to Ebrahim Azizi, head of Iran’s National Security Commission, the proposed law designates the Iranian Armed Forces as the sole authority responsible for the management and oversight of this vital waterway. Speaking to state television, Azizi confirmed that the military has already asserted control and is actively working to restrict the passage of "hostile vessels."

A notable feature of the proposed legislation is its economic focus, outlining a framework to generate and process revenues from the strait’s operations in Iranian Rials. This move is seen as a strategic effort to solidify Tehran’s military and fiscal dominance over the world’s most critical oil transit point. As tensions rise, this legislative shift could have far-reaching implications for international maritime security and global energy trade.
