The primary objective of this visit is to maintain a continuous dialogue on regional and international security issues. Upon his arrival, Araghchi told Iranian media that this meeting provides a timely and effective opportunity to review recent developments in the ongoing conflict and the latest situation in the Middle East.

Araghchi’s whirlwind diplomacy over the last 24 hours has caught the attention of global experts. His itinerary—traveling from Islamabad (Pakistan) to Muscat (Oman), returning briefly to Islamabad, and then flying directly to Russia—suggests a far-reaching strategic plan. Analysts believe Tehran is sending a clear message that it intends to strengthen its strategic presence in the region. By coordinating with global powers like Russia alongside regional partners, Iran aims to build a united front to tackle the current geopolitical crisis.

A central theme of the discussions is the current status of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical chokepoint for the global economy. Amid reports of the U.S. Navy attempting to blockade the waterway, Iran has issued a stern rejection. Araghchi explicitly declared that the Strait of Hormuz remains under Iranian control. He emphasized that regular coordination with a powerful ally like Russia is vital to ensuring safe navigation through the strait and mitigating global instability.

Germany and other Western observers are closely monitoring this deepening alliance, as it indicates a growing divergence between Western interests and the burgeoning Tehran-Moscow axis.
