According to a report by CNN, the President and First Lady Melania Trump were rushed to safety after gunshots were heard at the Washington Hilton Hotel. In a subsequent press conference, Trump remarked that while the presidency is "extremely dangerous and risky," he has not been mentally shaken by the event.

Providing details of the incident, the Secret Service stated that seven to eight gunshots rang out during the dinner on Saturday night. Security personnel immediately instructed everyone to take cover under tables as panic spread among the invited guests. Alongside President Trump, senior government officials, including FBI Director Kash Patel, were swiftly evacuated to secure locations. Trump admitted that he initially thought the noise was a tray falling, but soon realized the gravity of the situation. He praised the security teams for their "brave and rapid rescue efforts."

President Trump further revealed that there had been no prior threats or warnings regarding this specific attack. The suspected shooter has already been taken into custody and faces two formal charges. When asked if the shooter was targeting him directly, Trump replied, "These are crazy people; you can never be sure about them." He noted that security measures were exceptionally tight, with many agents seated at tables disguised as ordinary guests, making it impossible for the assailant to get close to him. He concluded by telling reporters that he is striving to maintain a normal life as much as possible.
