In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, on Thursday night, Trump confirmed the breakthrough following "excellent discussions" with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. He noted that both leaders have agreed to the truce to pave the way for a lasting peace.

Trump highlighted that this follows a historic meeting in Washington D.C.—the first in 34 years—overseen by Secretary of State Marco Rubio. "I have instructed Vice President JD Vance, Secretary Rubio, and Joint Chiefs Chairman Dan Kane to work closely with both nations to achieve a permanent settlement," Trump stated.

Reflecting on his record, Trump added, "It has been an honor to resolve 9 wars around the world, and this will be my 10th. Let's get it done!"
