Following a telephone conversation with Lebanese Speaker Nabih Berri on Thursday (April 16), Ghalibaf emphasized that Iran is striving to compel its adversaries into a comprehensive agreement that ensures lasting peace across all conflict zones. He reiterated that for Tehran, the stability of Lebanon is inseparable from the stability of Iran.

Despite the lack of an immediate breakthrough in recent US-Iran talks held in Pakistan, diplomatic efforts continue. Tehran demands that any ceasefire agreement involving Iran must also apply to Lebanon, a condition currently contested by the US and Israel. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Army Chief Asim Munir is visiting Tehran with a high-level delegation, reportedly delivering a message from Washington regarding the second round of peace negotiations. According to Al Jazeera, both nations have expressed a willingness to resume dialogue, with ongoing efforts to ensure the current two-week ceasefire covers Lebanese territories as well.
