According to a formal statement, at least nine ships complied with US military directives and diverted their courses away from the restricted zone. This escalation underscores Washington's commitment to enforcing its recent sanctions and maritime restrictions on Tehran.

CENTCOM’s report directly contradicts earlier claims made by Iran’s Fars News Agency, which stated that an Iranian supertanker carrying 2 million barrels of crude oil had successfully navigated through the strait toward Imam Khomeini Port. However, it remains unclear whether the vessel was able to offload its cargo or if it was eventually intercepted. These conflicting reports highlight the intensifying geopolitical friction and the information war currently unfolding in the Persian Gulf.
