IRGC Claims Downing Israeli Drone, Warns of Severe Consequences for Truce Violations
Following the incident, the IRGC issued a stern warning, stating that any unauthorized entry of U.S. or Israeli aircraft into Iranian airspace would be treated as a direct violation of the current ceasefire, regardless of their intent, and would meet a "crushing response."
This escalation follows a period of intense military friction that began in late February. While a two-week temporary ceasefire is currently in place—brokered by Pakistan—tensions remain high as both sides prepare for talks in Islamabad. Iran has presented a 10-point proposal, demanding the withdrawal of U.S. troops from the region and the lifting of all economic sanctions. While Tehran views Washington’s willingness to negotiate as a "historic victory," the Supreme National Security Council emphasized that these talks represent a new phase of diplomatic struggle rather than a conclusion to the conflict.
