Indian Visa Process for Bangladeshis to be Simplified Soon: S. Jaishankar

The assurance came during a bilateral meeting held on Wednesday (April 8) in New Delhi with Bangladesh's Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman. Priority will be given to medical and business visas to ensure seamless travel for these categories.

During his visit to New Delhi, Foreign Minister Dr. Khalilur Rahman emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, the new government will operate on a "Bangladesh First" policy, rooted in mutual respect and shared benefits. A major portion of the discussion focused on the extradition of fugitives; while thanking India for arresting suspects in the Osman Hadi murder case, Bangladesh reiterated its request for the extradition of former PM Sheikh Hasina and former Home Minister Asuzuzzaman Khan Kamal. Additionally, both nations discussed expanding cooperation in energy, specifically regarding the increased supply of diesel and fertilizers to Bangladesh.
