Pakistan Army Warns Against Middle East Escalation; Cites Threats to Regional Peace
During the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference in Rawalpindi, Field Marshal Asim Munir condemned recent strikes on Saudi petrochemical and industrial complexes, labeling them as "unnecessary escalations" that undermine regional mediation.
Reported by Abid Hussain from Islamabad, the military chief has been playing a pivotal role in facilitating dialogue between the US, Iran, Turkey, and Egypt, following recent discussions with US Vice President JD Vance and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. According to the military’s media wing, while Riyadh has shown significant restraint despite grave provocations, continued attacks pose a risk of catastrophic consequences for regional stability. Asserting its role as a "regional security stabilizer," Pakistan reiterated its call for de-escalation and constructive engagement across the Gulf.
