According to the national broadcaster ORF, a Ministry spokesperson stated that all requests are being evaluated on a case-by-case basis in coordination with the Foreign Ministry. Austria is not alone in its refusal; other European nations are also distancing themselves from the escalating conflict. Spain announced on Monday that its airspace remains closed to U.S. military aircraft involved in the Iran strikes, marking it as one of the most vocal opponents of the war in Europe.

Furthermore, the Italian government last week declined a U.S. request to utilize a strategic military base in Sicily for bomber operations. This growing trend of non-cooperation from key European allies signals a significant diplomatic hurdle for the U.S. administration as it seeks regional support for its military campaign against Tehran.
