On Monday (March 30), the Iranian Embassy in Mumbai issued a statement clarifying that no direct negotiations have taken place with Washington. Instead, Tehran accused the US of relaying "excessive and irrational demands" through intermediaries. The embassy further emphasized that the recent diplomatic forums held in Pakistan were independent initiatives, and Iran had no involvement in them. While welcoming regional calls for peace, Iran reminded the international community to reflect on who initiated the hostilities.

This clarification follows a statement by Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who claimed on Sunday that visiting ministers from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and Turkey fully supported an Islamabad-led dialogue between the US and Iran. Despite Pakistan’s assertion of high-level telephone discussions with the Iranian leadership, Tehran remains firm in its denial of formal talks. However, according to Iran's Tasnim News Agency, while rejecting the claim of direct dialogue, Tehran reportedly sent a formal response to US President Donald Trump’s 15-point plan via Islamabad.
