Israel Claims Assassination of IRGC Naval Chief Alireza Tangsiri
According to reports from the Times of Israel and Kan TV on Thursday, March 26, 2026, Tangsiri was reportedly killed in a precision airstrike targeting a building in the strategic port city of Bandar Abbas.
Israeli officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, identified Tangsiri as the "chief architect" behind the current blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and the primary coordinator of drone and missile deployments against naval targets in the Persian Gulf.
