Kashmir Rallies for Iran: Gold, Jewelry, and Cash Poured into Relief Fund
Residents across Budgam and Baramulla districts are donating gold, silver, jewelry, and significant cash amounts to aid those affected by the war. According to reports from ANI, the campaign has seen participation from all walks of life, including children donating their Eid gifts and a widow giving away a gold ornament she had cherished for 28 years in memory of her late husband. Local MLA Muntazir Mehdi also pledged his entire monthly salary to the cause, highlighting the depth of regional support.
Volunteers are going door-to-door to collect donations, which include not only money but also livestock and traditional copperware. These collected assets are being converted into cash and channeled through the Iranian Embassy in India to reach the war-torn areas. The Iranian Embassy has officially expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the people of Kashmir for their overwhelming generosity and moral support. Following the escalations since February 28, Kashmiris view this assistance as a vital humanitarian obligation to stand by the people of Iran during their time of distress.
