According to Omani journalist Salem Al-Zuhuri, who spoke with BBC Arabic, leaked information points toward a staggering financial ultimatum directed at the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Analysts are already viewing this as a complex geopolitical maneuver by the Trump administration, forcing regional allies to foot the bill for regional stability.

Al-Zuhuri claims that the U.S. has presented two distinct scenarios with astronomical price tags. If the Gulf nations wish to continue the military operations, they are reportedly being asked to provide nearly $5 trillion. Conversely, even to bring a halt to the hostilities, a "settlement" of $2.5 trillion is being suggested as a condition. Beyond the financial aspect, there is an underlying pressure from Washington for these nations to become more actively involved both militarily and strategically in the conflict.

While no official confirmation has been issued by the White House or any Gulf government, the timing of these leaks is critical. Following the strikes on February 28th and Iran’s subsequent retaliation, regional tensions have reached a boiling point. The potential for such a massive financial drain, combined with the risk of direct military involvement, has sent ripples of concern through global markets and the international community.
