A comprehensive survey conducted by CBS News and YouGov between March 17 and 20 shows that 92% of Americans favor ending the war with Iran as quickly as possible.

The poll, which included over 3,300 adults, highlights a significant disconnect between the Trump administration and the public. Nearly 66% of respondents described the conflict as a "war of choice" rather than a "war of necessity," while 68% believe the administration has failed to clearly define the war's objectives. Furthermore, 60% now oppose direct military action against Tehran, up from 56% earlier this month. While opinions remain split on regime change in Iran, the majority expressed concern over the safety of Iranian civilians and the overall trajectory of the war, with 57% stating that the situation is worsening for the United States.
