The Saudi Foreign Ministry issued a statement today, Sunday (March 22), declaring Iran’s military attaché, his deputy, and three other diplomatic staff members as "persona non grata."

This decision comes as the Ministry of Defense reports an average of 50 Iranian-origin missiles and drones launched toward Saudi territory daily. Early this morning, three long-range ballistic missiles directly targeted the capital, Riyadh; one was intercepted, while two others fell in uninhabited areas. Saudi officials have warned the public of continuous threats and asserted their sovereign right to retaliate in self-defense.

Experts suggest that with this diplomatic rupture, the possibility of a negotiated settlement between Riyadh and Tehran is rapidly fading, pushing the region closer to a broader conflict.
