During a press briefing on Thursday, the Chinese Foreign Ministry expressed strong opposition to the escalating violence and reaffirmed its support for international law and sovereignty.

Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian emphasized that China opposes any use of force in international relations, specifically criticizing attacks on state leaders and civilian targets. Since the conflict began on February 28, Larijani has been the most high-profile official to be killed. China’s special envoy Zhai Jun has held several high-level meetings this month to promote regional stability, alongside announcing humanitarian aid for Iran, Lebanon, Jordan, and Iraq.
