According to a report by The Washington Post, this funding is intended to bolster U.S. strikes and ramp up the production of advanced weaponry. However, White House officials are skeptical about securing Congressional approval as the financial burden of the war escalates at an unprecedented pace.

U.S. Central Command reports that over 7,800 Iranian targets have been struck and 120 vessels destroyed in the first three weeks of the conflict. The war’s initial week alone cost the U.S. $11 billion. This new request represents more than half of Iran’s entire projected GDP for 2025. While Republicans have signaled support, stiff opposition from Democrats and low public approval for the intervention could spark a major political showdown in Congress.
