Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz announced on Tuesday (March 17) that Larijani was neutralized in a recent operation. Tehran has yet to issue a formal comment regarding these claims.

If confirmed, this would mark the death of the second most influential leader in Tehran since the joint U.S.-Israeli strikes began on February 28. Following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on the first day of the invasion, the loss of a strategic figure like Larijani represents a massive blow to Iran's national security and military coordination.
