According to a special report by Middle East Eye, the Islamic Waqf has already been notified of this restrictive measure. For the first time since the 1967 occupation of East Jerusalem, Palestinians were unable to perform Friday prayers throughout Ramadan, and now the ban extends to Eid festivities.

Access to the holy site has been severely restricted over the past weeks, with only 25 Waqf staff allowed per shift. During Laylat al-Qadr, thousands of worshippers were forced to pray in the streets of the Old City amidst heavy police deployment. Waqf officials expressed concerns that Israel is attempting to make these temporary restrictions permanent by installing surveillance cameras inside the Dome of the Rock. Eight Muslim-majority nations have condemned the move, labeling it a grave violation of international law and religious freedom.
