Iran Targeted Only US Bases in Response to Attacks from Ally Soil: Araghchi

In an interview with CBS News, Araghchi stated, "These countries have given their soil to American forces to attack us. Should we just sit and watch?" He clarified that Tehran is specifically targeting "American assets, facilities, and military bases," rather than the host nations themselves.

More than two weeks into the intensifying regional conflict, Araghchi emphasized that while the Strait of Hormuz remains partially accessible, the "insecurity" in the waterway is a direct consequence of U.S. aggression. He noted that Iranian forces continue to provide safe passage for non-U.S. vessels, asserting that the current instability stems from the presence of American military operations.
