IRGC Issues Assassination Threat Against Netanyahu, Calling Him a "Child-Killer"

According to a statement released on Sunday, March 15, 2026, through the IRGC’s official outlet, Sepah News, and cited by major international agencies like AFP, the Iranian military has labeled Netanyahu a "child-killing criminal" and vowed to pursue him with "full force." The IRGC warned that regardless of where he may hide, its commandos and intelligence agents are tasked with locating and eliminating him as a primary target of their retaliatory operations.

This development comes in the wake of the February 28 joint U.S.-Israeli strikes that killed Iran’s former Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, as well as several of his family members, including his 14-month-old granddaughter. Analysts believe the IRGC's specific branding of Netanyahu as a "child-killer" is a direct response to the death of Khamenei's granddaughter during the initial bombardment. The threat also aims to counter recent rumors of Netanyahu’s own death, which his office recently dismissed as "fake news" after an AI-generated video circulated online, fueling speculation about his safety and location.

The open declaration of intent to kill a foreign head of state marks a dangerous turning point in the two-week-old war, which has already seen both sides trade hundreds of missile and drone strikes. As Israel and the United States continue their campaign to dismantle Iran's military infrastructure and push for regime change, Tehran appears to be doubling down on a strategy of personal and political targeting. International observers warn that such rhetoric not only makes a diplomatic exit more difficult but also significantly increases the likelihood of the conflict spilling over into a wider, more unpredictable regional war.
