China Announces $200,000 Aid for Iranian School Attack Victims; Slams US Strike
According to AFP, the Red Cross Society of China will provide this emergency humanitarian aid through the Iranian Red Crescent Society as a gesture of "condemnation and compensation." Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun confirmed the decision on Friday (March 13), describing the attack as a "grave violation" of international humanitarian law.
The strike, which occurred on February 28 during the joint U.S.-Israeli military campaign, claimed the lives of at least 175 people, the majority of whom were young children. Guo Jiakun emphasized that targeting schools and children crosses the lowest threshold of human morality. Despite denials from Washington and Tel Aviv, China maintains that the evidence points toward U.S. involvement and has pledged continued support for the Iranian people during this humanitarian crisis.
