On Monday (March 9), following reports of Iranian ballistic missiles attempting to enter Turkish airspace, the US Embassy in Ankara advised non-essential government personnel and private citizens to evacuate southeastern regions near the Iranian border.

Reports indicate that since the conflict intensified in late February, Tehran has been targeting US assets across the Middle East with drones and missiles. Washington is particularly concerned about the security of the Incirlik Air Base, a strategic NATO facility located near Adana. Consequently, the State Department has ordered the departure of non-emergency staff from the Adana Consulate General. A travel advisory has been issued, strongly encouraging Americans in high-risk zones to leave the area immediately.
