Describing China as a steadfast friend and partner of Saudi Arabia, the envoy voiced deep concern over the escalating regional tensions. He emphasized that the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Gulf nations must be respected, sternly condemning any attacks targeting innocent civilians or non-military infrastructure. Zhai Jun further reiterated Beijing's call for an immediate cessation of all military operations to prevent further instability.

Simultaneously, China has voiced its strong opposition to any attempts by Israel or the United States to interfere in Iran's internal affairs, particularly regarding the targeting of Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. On Monday (March 9), Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun stated that the appointment of a new Supreme Leader is a sovereign decision governed by Iran’s constitution. He asserted that China opposes foreign intervention under any pretext and maintains that Iran’s security and geographical integrity must be upheld. By intensifying its diplomatic presence in the Middle East, China aims to position itself as a key player in de-escalating the crisis and safeguarding international norms.
