Iran Pledges to Halt Attacks on Neighbors if US Bases Are Not Used for Strikes
This policy shift was confirmed following approval by Iran’s Interim Leadership Council, which was recently formed to manage the state during the ongoing conflict.
In a statement reported by Al Jazeera, President Pezeshkian and Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei expressed regret over the recent strikes that hit neighboring Arab states. They clarified that Tehran harbors no hostility toward its neighbors but was forced to take retaliatory measures because those countries host US military installations used in "Operation Shield of Judah." Tehran’s message to its neighbors remains firm: military action will only be directed at those who allow their land or airspace to be used as a launchpad for aggression against Iran.
