Three-Day Memorial for Ayatollah Khamenei Begins Today in Tehran

According to the Tasnim News Agency, the gathering will start at 10 PM local time at the Grand Mosalla Mosque in Tehran.

Devotees and supporters will have the opportunity to pay their final respects during this memorial. Following the services, he will be laid to rest, though the specific date for the burial has yet to be finalized. Officials have stated that the schedule will be announced shortly.

Fars News Agency reported that Khamenei will be buried in his birthplace, the holy city of Mashhad. His father's grave is also located within the Imam Reza Shrine complex in the same city. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced on Telegram that a massive farewell ceremony is being organized in the capital before the burial.

Khamenei passed away at the age of 86 last Saturday (February 28) during a joint military operation. He had been serving as Iran's Supreme Leader since 1989, having previously served as the country’s President during the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s.
