Speaking on Fox News’s Hannity on Monday, March 2, 2026, Netanyahu emphasized that the conflict—which began on February 28—is intended to be a "gateway to peace" rather than a protracted engagement lasting years. He argued that the military action was necessary to destroy Iran's nuclear and ballistic missile infrastructure, which he claimed was on the verge of becoming "immune" to attacks within months due to new underground facilities.

Netanyahu further suggested that the current strikes are creating a "favorable environment" for the Iranian people to ultimately change their own government. Describing the Iranian regime as being at its "weakest point ever" following the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other top officials, he maintained that the operation serves both regional stability and the prospect of normalizing Israel-Saudi relations. He thanked U.S. President Donald Trump, calling him the "strongest leader in the world" and dismissing claims that Israel had "dragged" Washington into the conflict.
