Israeli Hospitals Relocate Operations Underground Amid Escalating Tensions
To ensure patient safety against potential retaliatory missile strikes, major hospitals have begun relocating their medical operations to fortified underground facilities.
According to the Ministry’s directives, hospitals have been instructed to discharge all non-critical patients immediately to clear capacity for emergencies. Tel Aviv’s Sourasky Medical Center (Ichilov) has already activated its specialized underground emergency unit. Similarly, Sheba Medical Center in Ramat Gan and Rambam Hospital in Haifa have converted their underground parking structures and fortified zones into temporary wards, fully equipped with essential medical gear. Meanwhile, Israel’s emergency response organization, Magen David Adom, has shifted to a full emergency mode in close coordination with the military.
