Global Record Set in Umrah: 904,000 Pilgrims Perform Ritual in a Single Day

To manage the unprecedented influx, the 'Mataaf' area (the white marble courtyard surrounding the Kaaba) has been reserved exclusively for Umrah performers throughout the day. Special measures have been implemented to ensure order, including dedicated pedestrian lanes and free shuttle bus services from King Abdulaziz International Airport and 14 designated parking lots.

Authorities have urged regular worshippers to use designated prayer areas during Maghrib, Isha, and Tarawih to avoid congestion in the main corridors of the Grand Mosque.
