India Issues Urgent Exit Notice for Citizens in Iran
The notice, issued on Sunday (February 22), urges Indian nationals and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) to exercise extreme caution, avoid protest areas, and maintain constant contact with the embassy. Citizens have also been requested to keep their passports and immigration documents ready for a swift departure.
The alert follows reports that various military options, including potential strikes targeting Iran’s top leadership, were presented to the US President. While Oman’s Foreign Minister expressed hope for a diplomatic breakthrough in upcoming talks in Geneva on Thursday, the heightened risk of conflict has prompted New Delhi to take preemptive measures. This marks the second major evacuation advisory from India this year, following similar concerns during Iran's domestic unrest in January.
