Iran Labels EU Navies and Air Forces as ‘Terrorist Organizations’
Tehran condemned the EU’s move as a violation of international law and the UN Charter, stating it was compelled to take "proportionate legal action" under a 2019 domestic law regarding reciprocal measures.
Iranian officials accused the EU of following a US-led agenda and interfering in its internal affairs following recent domestic unrest. With this designation, Tehran now views the armed forces of EU nations through the same lens as terrorist groups. The escalation follows the EU Foreign Affairs Council's formal inclusion of the IRGC in its terror list, which triggers asset freezes and financial bans within the bloc. Iran maintains that the EU’s decision is a direct result of influence from Washington and Israeli intelligence agencies.
