US Deploys Record Air Power in the Middle East
According to The Wall Street Journal, the scale of deployment is comparable to preparations made during the early phase of the Iraq invasion in March 2003. That war formally ended on December 15, 2011.
Amid rising tensions, President Donald Trump is reportedly considering military options against Iran, citing concerns over internal crackdowns and broader regional issues. Although diplomatic discussions over Iran’s nuclear program continue, US officials suggest there has been little meaningful progress.
The Pentagon has stated that American forces are fully prepared for potential operations. Fighter aircraft deployed to the region include F-16s, F-22s and F-35s. According to Axios, more than 50 US combat aircraft were sent to the Middle East within the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, the US Navy’s aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford is reportedly moving toward the Persian Gulf, underscoring heightened military readiness.
