FIFA President Gianni Infantino Added to Ukraine’s Controversial ‘Hit List’
The database accuses Infantino of conducting a form of "humanitarian and civilian aggression" against Ukraine through "systematic support and cooperation" with Russia. It also alleges that he has been instrumental in spreading Russian propaganda. A significant factor behind his inclusion is cited as the "Order of Friendship" award he received from Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2019.
Following the start of the military conflict in 2022, Russian teams were banned from international football. However, Infantino recently questioned the effectiveness of these sanctions in an interview, suggesting that boycotting Russian football has not brought any progress but has instead fueled hatred and frustration. These comments triggered outrage among Ukrainian politicians. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha issued a stern response, labeling the FIFA President as a man who has lost his "moral compass."
