Malaysia Deports 135 Migrants Including Bangladeshis
The special repatriation process, completed during the final week of January, saw the detainees deported through Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA 1 and 2) and the Pasir Gudang Ferry Terminal. According to Johor Immigration Department sources, the group comprised 112 Myanmar nationals, 11 Indonesians, nine Bangladeshis, two Sri Lankans, and one Cambodian national.
The migrants were sent back after completing sentences for various violations under the Immigration Act and other local laws. Authorities confirmed that all deported individuals have been placed on the Immigration Department’s "blacklist," strictly prohibiting them from re-entering Malaysia for a specified period.
The Johor Immigration Department emphasized that the Nanas Town Detention Depot conducts these operations regularly to ensure that undocumented migrants do not remain in the country after serving their sentences.
This move comes as the Malaysian government continues its Migrant Repatriation Programme 2.0 (PRM 2.0), which allows undocumented foreigners to return home voluntarily. The program is scheduled to remain active until April 30, 2026.
