The live-fire drills, scheduled to begin tomorrow, Sunday, February 1, have placed the entire region on high alert.

According to Iranian state media, the naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) will conduct the exercise. The drills will feature live-fire maneuvers alongside the deployment of advanced drone and missile systems. Following the announcement, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a stern warning to Tehran, stating that any "unsafe or unprofessional" behavior—including drone overflights of U.S. warships or provocative maneuvers by high-speed boats—will not be tolerated.

On the diplomatic front, there are no signs of a breakthrough. Following a meeting with the Turkish Foreign Minister in Istanbul on Friday, January 30, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated, "We are ready for just and proper negotiations, but no settlement will be reached under the shadow of threats." He explicitly clarified that Iran would not compromise on its defense strategy or missile capabilities under any circumstances.

The combination of the Trump administration’s "maximum pressure" strategy and Iran’s defiant stance has put regional geopolitical stability at grave risk. Analysts warn that with the Strait of Hormuz serving as one of the world's most vital energy corridors, even a minor miscalculation could trigger a catastrophic military confrontation.
