Zelenskyy Sets Target to Neutralize 50,000 Russian Troops Monthly
During a recent high-level meeting with military officials, he set a target for Ukrainian forces to eliminate at least 50,000 Russian soldiers per month on the battlefield.
According to Zelenskyy, this figure is intended to outpace Russia’s monthly recruitment capacity, ultimately forcing the Kremlin to retreat or engage in serious negotiations. This new benchmark is built upon the success seen in December 2025, where video-verified evidence confirmed approximately 35,000 Russian casualties.
Technology and the ‘E-Point’ System
Drone technology will serve as the primary engine for this plan. Zelenskyy recently appointed drone expert Mykhailo Fedorov as the Minister of Defense to lead this technological push. To incentivize drone operators, the military has introduced the ‘E-Baly’ (E-Point) system. Under this framework, units receive points and financial rewards based on video-verified successful drone strikes, which they can use directly to procure advanced military equipment.
Peace Talks and Current Situation
Meanwhile, tripartite peace negotiations mediated by U.S. President Donald Trump in Abu Dhabi have yet to achieve a significant breakthrough. Discussions remain stalled as both nations maintain firm stances regarding control over the Donetsk region. Zelenskyy has warned European allies that Russian aggression must be countered through fierce resistance rather than relying solely on NATO.
On the home front, continuous Russian missile strikes have severely damaged Ukraine’s power infrastructure, leaving Kyiv and other major cities without electricity amidst the harsh winter. It remains to be seen how Zelenskyy’s new "kill quota" strategy will impact the dynamics of the battlefield moving forward.
