Tensions have escalated as the United States deployed additional military assets to the Gulf region following the most significant protests in Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. Yesterday, US President Donald Trump announced that another US naval fleet, "Armada," is heading toward Iran, expressing hope that Tehran would seek a deal with Washington. Despite Trump’s comments sparking speculation about potential talks, Araghchi dismissed the possibility.

He emphasized, "There has been no communication between Witkoff and me in recent days, nor has any request for discussion been initiated from our side." He noted that while various intermediaries are reaching out to Tehran with "suggestions," Iran’s stance remains unchanged.

Araghchi clarified that negotiations cannot take place under the shadow of threats. He stated that talks are only possible once threats and excessive demands are ceased.

Meanwhile, in a conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman remarked that Tehran welcomes any process within the framework of international law that aims to prevent war.
