Ukrainian authorities reported that the drone scored a direct hit on a carriage of a train carrying approximately 200 passengers. Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko confirmed via social media that the strike ignited a massive fire, resulting in several immediate fatalities.

Beyond public transport, Russian forces also intensified their assault on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Widespread drone and missile strikes have plunged several regions into darkness, leaving millions to suffer in freezing winter temperatures.

Condemning the attack, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated, "There is no military logic in killing civilians in a passenger train carriage. This is pure terrorism." He further warned that Moscow’s relentless bombardment is severely undermining international peace efforts.

The strike comes as representatives from the US, Russia, and Ukraine meet in Abu Dhabi to discuss a potential ceasefire. However, the deadly escalation on the ground has raised deep skepticism in Kyiv regarding Moscow's commitment to the peace table. This report was confirmed via France 24.
