Thai health authorities are conducting fever screenings and symptom checks at Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang, and Phuket airports, while Nepal has tightened vigilance at both land borders and Tribhuvan International Airport. Taiwan is reportedly planning to classify Nipah as a 'Category-5' high-risk infectious disease.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the Nipah virus is a high-priority pathogen with a fatality rate ranging from 40% to 75%, and there is currently no effective vaccine. While the virus primarily spreads through fruit bats or pigs, human-to-human transmission remains a significant concern. Although Indian authorities emphasize that only two confirmed cases have been reported in West Bengal and the situation is under control, experts have flagged Kerala and West Bengal as high-risk zones. Health specialists advise travelers to remain cautious and seek immediate medical attention if any symptoms arise.
