The Armed Forces of Malta confirmed that a single male survivor was rescued by a cargo ship on Friday and transported to Malta for urgent medical care. According to his testimony shared by the migrant support group 'Alarm Phone,' nearly 50 people were on board when the boat sank. The survivor revealed they had been stranded in the water for nearly 24 hours, and tragically, none of his fellow travelers survived the ordeal.

Earlier this week, 'Alarm Phone' reported that about 150 people went missing after three separate boats departed from Tunisia. However, authorities have yet to confirm if the lone survivor belonged to one of those previously reported missing vessels. The tragedy underscores the ongoing risks faced by migrants attempting to cross one of the world's most dangerous maritime routes.
