Supported by Tehran, the militant group recently released a video suggesting that renewed attacks on commercial vessels in the Red Sea are "coming soon." This development has sparked fears of a broader military confrontation in the Middle East.

The situation intensified after US President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln and several guided-missile destroyers to the region. Trump warned that the US would not hesitate to use military force if the Iranian government continues its violent crackdown on peaceful protesters or carries out mass executions. In response, Iran has already restricted its airspace and vowed "crushing retaliation" against any foreign aggression.

While the Houthis had temporarily reduced their maritime strikes following the Gaza ceasefire, they now appear ready to resume their offensive. Previously, the group had targeted over a hundred vessels in vital shipping lanes to exert pressure on Israel. This latest escalation suggests that the Red Sea could once again become a volatile battlefield between the US-led coalition and Iranian-backed forces.
