President Donald Trump has stirred further controversy by explicitly siding with the ICE officers involved, praising them as "patriots." He stated firmly that the officers were simply performing their duties and warned that any interference with their work would not be tolerated.

The incident occurred Saturday during a protest against ICE operations, resulting in the death of a young man identified as Alex Preti. While witnesses claim Preti was assaulted by officers before being shot, President Trump has characterized the killing as an act of "self-defense." To support his claim, Trump posted an image of a loaded pistol on social media, alleging the deceased was armed. He also heavily criticized the local mayor and governor, questioning why local police were not providing adequate security for federal agents.

The Trump administration has recently intensified its anti-immigrant crackdown in Minneapolis, with the President announcing that 12,000 undocumented immigrants have already been arrested in the area. He blamed Democratic "open border" policies for allowing criminals to enter and "steal the wealth" of local residents, arguing that the city would be in a far worse state without the strict measures taken by ICE.

This death marks the second fatality involving the immigration department recently, following the controversial detention of a two-year-old child, fueling intense public backlash. Despite outcry from human rights activists who warn that such "inhumane" actions are spreading terror among immigrant communities, Trump’s unwavering support for the officers is expected to further escalate tensions nationwide.
