Trump Issues Defiant Warning: Disarm Hamas or Face Total Destruction
President Trump claimed that a "sense of peace" is currently emerging in the Middle East and asserted that Hamas has shown preliminary consent to surrender their weapons. However, Hamas has yet to release an official statement confirming such a commitment. Addressing reporters, Trump said, "Hamas's next move will be clear in the next two or three days, or three weeks at most. If they back out of their promises, the consequences will be horrific."
Prior to his meeting with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, Trump further revealed that 59 countries have already expressed interest in joining a proposed "International Stabilization Force" (ISF) for Gaza. He noted that this force would not hesitate to eliminate Hamas if necessary. The U.S. administration indicated that a detailed plan for this peacekeeping force—focused on security and aid distribution—will be announced shortly.
Meanwhile, fresh diplomatic tensions have surfaced regarding the inclusion of Qatar and Turkey in Gaza’s future governance and reconstruction. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has explicitly stated that he will not tolerate any Turkish or Qatari influence on the proposed administrative boards for Gaza. Amidst these rising tensions, Netanyahu is scheduled to travel to Washington in February for direct talks with Trump, marking his fifth visit to the U.S. since Trump returned to office.
